Castleman Statue
This equestrian statue depicts John Breckinridge Castleman (1841-1918) and his favorite American Saddlebred mare, Carolina. It is located at the intersection of Cherokee Parkway and Cherokee Road, in the Cherokee Triangle area of Louisville, Kentucky. This district, an example of a post-bellum, pre-World War 1 streetcar suburb, is on the National Register and is a Local Landmark District. Architecture of this area is diverse and eclectic. Homes of this area were originally the residence of affluent and prominent families at the turn of the century.
