Cave Hill National Cemetery

Burial site for over 5,500 Union and Confederate Civil War soldiers, as well as soldiers from other American Wars. The U.S. Government purchased 42,113 square feet of land at 25 cents per square foot during the Cvivil War for burial of Union soldiers. A smaller area for 200 Confederate soldiers is nearby, and was privately purchased by local Confederates.
