Episcopal Church of the Advent 1887
The Episcopal Church of the Advent is located at 901 Baxter Avenue, across from the main entrance to Cave Hill Cemetery. This Gothic Revival building was designed by Frederick C. Withers of New York, and built in 1887. The building has an irregular and informal design with several wood dormers and entrances. The steep pitched slate roof coming near the ground enhances the intimate quality of the building.
The Church of the Advent, one of Louisville's earliest suburban churches, continues to be an active congregation involved in worship and ministry.
